The Advantages of Being
a Woman Artist

"The Advantages of Being a Woman Artist" is an accordion collage book about how women are represented or are viewed in art through time. This book is constructed of images found in books randomly pulled from the shelves of the Edinboro campus library. The collage was created by printing out the images and laying out the whole 5-foot-long collage on the floor. It tells an abstract story of how women are viewed in art history. The title is clipped from the Guerrilla Girls' piece about women in art, and I used it as a baseline for my idea for the book.
